Write it Out! Silly Story Writing Prompts

Do your students need extra writing practice, but you're out of ideas of prompts to keep them engaged? I've got a product that will help get their creative juices flowing!! 

This activity is sure to get your students thinking and laughing, all while working on improving their writing abilities! But not only that, these cards can help target grammar/syntax, vocabulary, language, and articulation- the possibilities are endless! 

There are three sets of cards: green cards, purple cards, and blue cards. 

The green cards explain what the student has to write. There are 12 different types of things to write.

The purple cards are the subject cards. There are 36 different subjects, both animate and inanimate objects. 

The blue cards tell something about the subject. There are 36 of these cards as well. 

I've also included blank pages for all the sections so you can add your own! I hope your students have fun "writing it out!" I would love to hear some of your best sentence combinations, I know there will be some funny ones :)

Robot Syntax

I don't know about you, but I often find my students having troubles with certain aspects of syntax, such as irregular plurals nouns anything! My newest product, Robot Syntax, focuses on irregular plurals, pronoun/antecedent agreement, and irregular past tense verbs.

I introduce you to Nancy the noun robot, Pete the pronoun robot, and Veronica the verb robot. 

Nancy the noun robot

What's my plural?: Draw a card and spell out the plural noun. Use the included table to spell out the word and use the words in sentences worksheet to have your students write sentences with the plural nouns. There are 25 different nouns included. 

Sort me out: Sort out singular and irregular plural nouns. In addition to the 25 nouns, I've included the 25 plural nouns as well. Use the mat to sort out singular and plural nouns. You can also use these cards to play a Go Fish or Memory game.

Is my sentence correct?: Draw a card from the pile. Read the sentence and determine if the underlined word is used correctly. If incorrect, state the correct word. There are 48 included cards in this section.

Pete the pronoun robot

Who did it?: Draw a card from the pile. Read the sentence and determine which pronoun should be used from a field of four. 36 cards are included. 

Veronica the verb robot

What’s my verb? Draw a card and give the past tense verb. Use the included table to spell out the word and use the words in sentences worksheet to have your students write sentences with the past tense verbs. There are 25 verbs and the matching 25 past tense verbs. 

Sort me out: Sort out present tense and irregular past tense verbs using the included sorting mat. You can also use these cards to play Go Fish or Memory.

Fill in my blank: Each card contains a present tense verb and a blank for the past tense verb in fill in the blank sentence form. 24 different cards are included.

So to recap- that's 208 total cards! There are two sorting mats, two tables, two sentence worksheets, a game board, and blank cards in each section to make up your own cards.
